The unique blend of some of the most accomplished musicians in the industry with collaboration with some of the best Urban Latin artist brings an amazing experience that is second to none. La Calle Ocho Funk performs in concerts, festivals and private events.
Bringing a show second to none, in addition to an amazing band and singers, La Calle Ocho Funk brings dancers, projection and full production team which will awe all. This band is destined to raise to new heights, their first single "Chocolate" is receiving worldwide airplay and making Top 20 Titles in various charts and creating a buzz for the full EP release in August 2017.
We are so awestruck how everyone is receiving us and our music. We are a group of musicians that just love playing for our crowds and fans. Luis Alas / Sax
Saxophonist Luis Alas is the founder of La Calle Ocho Funk. Luis has been working as a solo artist over the last four years. Luis has performed with a number of artist through his musical career, including names like George Duke, Anita Baker, Savoy Brown and many others. Luis' most recent compositions for La Calle Ocho Funk "Sippin On Jack" has broken the top 100 in the smooth jazz charts.

Joel Edgecombe / Keys & Music Dir.
Keyboardist & Music Director Joel Edgecombe, the second founding member of La Calle Ocho Funk is one of the top corporate band keyboardist and highly sought after talent in South Florida. Joel & Luis met while playing together in a corporate band which has performed around the world including a birthday party for Sir Paul McCartney in Ireland, Miami Heat player Chris Bosch's wedding and many others. Joel a graduate of Florida International University's School of Music brings a virtuosity and swag every successful band needs.
Edrey Sarracen / Music Director Keys
Edrey is not only an amazing musician but also the producer of all La Calle Ocho Funk's recordings and co-arranger and co-writer of many of LCOF's hits including Chocolate & Sippin On Jack. As a graduate of Cuba's conservatory Edrey brings not only amazing Latin piano skills, but over 15 years experience working with some of the top names in Latin music.
Edgar Ripoll / Guitar
Edgar, one of the newest members of La Calle Ocho Funk is an amazing guitarist with a resume of who's who in music. Edgar brings an amazing richness of tones and grooves that has propelled La Calle Ocho Funk to a new level.
Rafael Querales / Bass
Rafael Querales, also one of the newer members of La Calle Ocho Funk came through the recommendation of a mutual friend with Luis when looking for a bass player. Rafael brings and amazing fusion style of playing that was honed with his years with Venezuelan music group Guaco.
